Hollandia Services specializes in the engineering, fabrication, and assembly of steel structures. To raise safety awareness among employees, the QHSE team teamed up with Cooler Media, and with great success! Since 2020, we’ve been working together on the safety campaign ‘Think, Act, and Show Safety!’ (Veilig denken, doen en tonen!).

So far, we’ve created:

  • 5 animations

  • 2 campaign films

  • 21 posters

  • 3 visual boards

along with a coloring page, a unique Hollandia card game, and hundreds of branded coffee cups.

Execution of the safety campaign

To make an important topic like safety truly resonate, we use a mix of visual tools: from animation and film to posters and infographics. These visuals help present complex information in a clear and engaging way, capturing the audience’s attention.

Humor and relatable situations make the message easier to grasp and spark conversations, whether on the work floor, with safety experts, or even at home. Based on an internal safety awareness plan, we create visual content tailored to each theme. One of the first things we developed was safety mascot Buddy, who features in almost every visual asset and explains safety in a simple, approachable way. Every year we highlight a set of relevant themes.

2020 – How do you approach safety?

The campaign kicked off in 2020 with the theme of safety awareness. In this animation, Buddy is introduced as a friendly colleague who’s well aware of all safety risks and always ready to help others. He soon became the familiar face of the campaign, making safety both approachable and relatable for everyone.

2021 – What is Hollandia doing to ensure safety?

In the first year of the campaign, the focus was mainly on raising safety awareness among employees. By 2021, it was time for Hollandia to highlight the role they play as an employer. Through an animation, Hollandia explains the measures they take to ensure their employees’ safety.

To reinforce this message, we created several infographics and a toolbox visual, all under the slogan: “Safety is not a matter of luck, Hollandia works on it every day.”

Currently under construction – RISQ

Since 2024, we’ve been working on a mini-series called RISQ (Romy’s Interesting Safety Quest), where reporter Romy explores important safety topics in a lighthearted, TV-show style format. Topics include having open conversations about safety, feeling confident to speak up, understanding the risks of working at heights, and much more. Nothing is too bold for RISQ!

On top of that, we’ve also designed several posters throughout the years. This way, employees are constantly reminded of safety, ensuring it always stays top of mind!
